Hello readers!
Today is a very special day. It's the one year anniversary of when we brought Bella home and she made our little family complete. It's crazy to see how much she has grown this past year. She was only a few months old and around 10 pounds when we adopted her. Fast-forward to today, our one-year-old is about 65 pounds. Our big strong girl. She's a 65-pound lap dog for sure. I'm so glad she hasn't outgrown her love of puppy cuddles.
I figured a day like today warranted making her a special homemade treat. A few days ago I was enjoying one of my Honey Oat Granola Bars topped with a little bit of peanut butter and my girl, being the little peanut butter crackhead that she is, wouldn't leave me alone. Of course, those granola bars have some things in them that aren't the best for doggos so I couldn't share with her. But it got me thinking, most of the ingredients are dog safe. I could easily adapt these to be a healthy and tasty treat for my fur baby. And it would be the perfect tasty peanut butter treat for her adoptaversary. So, that's exactly what I did!
All the ingredients in these bites are not only dog-safe, they're all beneficial for your pup. Oats provide them with good fiber and help aid in digestion. Pumpkin also provides good fiber and is a digestion-aid in addition to giving pup some vitamin A. Flaxseed is a good source of omega-3s which helps with a healthy coat and skin in addition to providing a number of other benefits. And peanut butter contains protein and other vitamins that are good for your pup.
Peanut butter is also a consistent crowd pleaser. We call Bella the peanut butter crack head in this house. It's her absolute favorite food hands-down. If you're eating anything with peanut butter in it she will find you and get all up in your business in hopes of getting a taste.
These bites are super easy to whip together and they make a decent amount so you'll have a nice stash of treats for your little one. The recipe is tested and Bella-approved. She LOVES them.
So, here you go folks, Pumpkin Peanut Butter Pup Bites.

~ Directions ~
Preheat oven to 350°.
In a medium-sized bowl, combine oats, flour, pumpkin, and flaxseed. Mix well. Add the water and mix until the mixture becomes dough-like.
Separate the "dough" into small balls/bites. I made mine tablespoon-sized which produced about 30 bites. Bella is a 60-pound pit bull mix so if your baby is smaller you may want to make smaller bites. Place on a greased baking sheet.
Bake for 15 minutes, or until the bites are lightly browned. Remove and let cool.
Enjoy and let me know how your fur baby likes them!
